Hey everyone, I know it has been a while since I have posted a blog. And being that I am about to leave for Haiti, I while have to make this one brief. Since being back from Uganda a lot has happened. I traveled back home for the holidays and two days after Christmas I found out that I had a severe strain of malaria. Six days later I was released from the hospital and in another week I was fully recovered. I am now officially living in Gainesville, Ga with three roommates and an unbelievable community of brothers ans sisters. While I have been here, I have been helping at training camps and interviewing students that are applying to go on mission trips. This is a great season of getting to know the people here and listening to the Lord to see what He wants me to do next.
So, yesterday I got news that AIM was looking for some one to do some setup and take a van down to Haiti. I had been feeling that God was leading me there before they even needed someone, so I volunteered to go. So how do you ask will we drive a van down to Haiti? (Being that that is an impossible task, we are getting some assistance). Myself and my friend Steve will be driving a 15 passenger van full of supplies down to Miami where we will be loaded (along with our van and medical supplies) onto an Air Force transport plane headed for Haiti.
All of this is coming together pretty quickly, but there are still a lot of details that need to be figured out. So this is the part of the blog that I ask for your prayers. Please pray that all the details would come together according to God’s will (we do realize that us stepping out in faith is part of His plan), for safety during travel and as we are in Haiti, health being that Haiti is a typhoid and malaria hot spot and I sure don’t want that again (yes I am on malaria meds), that God would lead us to the contacts we will need in order to mobilize more teams to Haiti, that we would have opportunities to share the gospel and bring hope to people in a seemingly hopeless situation, and of course for the people there that continue to suffer and grieve the loss of those they loved. I love you all and will update you as soon as I get a chance. (Check out http://haiti.adventures.org where we will be posting updates and pictures of what we see and experience while we are there)

  4. Wow!! Now I feel like a mushroom! I just found out from Aunt Linnea that you were going to Haiti. I have not received updates for your blog due to the fact of not having updated my new email address. I am EXTREMELY glad to hear that you are on the meds for malaria, as I did not mind caring for you while you were sick (that gave me the chance to be your mommy again :-D)I do not wish to see you suffer that way ever again! So what do you do for the typhoid issue? I sure wish you could call me before you leave. But if I don’t get the chance to speak to you, know that my thoughts and prayers are with you! May you be filled to overflowing with the love of our Lord and Savior so that you can pour it out over these hurting people. Go boldly and safely. I love you so much! Mom
