Where do I even begin? So much has been happening here in Mexico, not only in the students, but in the hearts of us leaders as well. Well, let’s start with this. For those of you who haven’t noticed yet (I’m hoping you have) the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is moving mightily in the hearts of His people. He is bringing us into a place of renewed freedom, a freedom that will allow us to be the people He has called us to be.
The other night, we had a certain topic that we were planning on talking about. What it was I don’t remember and it doesn’t really matter anyway. What matters is that God changed the topic, and we didn’t really talk about it, we experienced it. The topic became “freedom” and it was led by the Holy Spirit. As we were worshipping, God laid a burden on me that many of our students were struggling with deep rooted lies and hurts. But before I could say anything, one of the girls spoke up and confessed that she was having a hard time believing that she had been chosen by God. Immediately she was surrounded by other students that were praying over her and speaking Truth into her life. This led to more of the students confessing their struggles and more prayer and Truth. After a while, things calmed down and people began to hug each other and talk about what just happened. But the Lord spoke to me and told me, “I AM NOT FINISHED YET!” As He spoke those words to me, over and over, another girl came up to me and said she felt that we were supposed to pray over her. As we prayed, she said that she was feeling distant from God and she didn’t know what to do about it. After she said this, the Lord gave one of the other leaders some powerful words to speak over her. This led to more students being open and honest about their struggles. I wish I could justly describe to you what we were experiencing, but words just don’t suffice.
It was an amazing night of freedom brought about solely by the mercy and grace of a loving Father. But again, the Father spoke to me and said, “I AM NOT FINISHED YET!” I thought at first that He meant that more was to come that night, but I quickly realized that He meant something much deeper, much more profound than that. You see, He had just begun to scratch the surface of things yet to come. So that is when God told me about the weeds…..to be continued!

  1. Wow! That is awesome! God really does want people set free. Church was amazing tonight, as we are celebrating one of the appointed times of God, the Feast of the Tabernacles. Many people were set free from different types of bondages…lies, addictions, illness, depression, just to name a few. It seemed like almost everyone there came up wanting to be set free from something. We think as christians that we can’t be in bondage, but the enemy is a great deciever, the father of all lies. He would like nothing more than to keep us in that bondage to steal our joy & have us question our worth. In doing so he keeps us from being who we truly are in Jesus. So we usually just go on thinking that’s just the way life is, but glory to God He loves us too much to leave us that way! Jesus came to give us life, life more abundantly! We just have to TOTALLY surrender EVERYTHING to Him, not hold anything back and what the Son sets free is FREE INDEED!!!!! Shout it out….”FREEDOM in Jesus name”!!! I am so excited for you that God has chosen you to be a part of this mighty move…oh yeah and did I mention proud? I continue to pray for you, your leaders and team members. I love you! Mom

  2. ahh, a cliff hanger! I love it. Thank you for sharing what God is doing in your life and in the lives of the students you’re leading. I’m praying for more revelation! Looking forward to reading about the weeds!

  3. Jesse,

It looks like God is using you in your writings, as well as your witnessing on this missions trip. God bless you, my dear “great” nephew! It’s wonderful hearing about your experiences.

  4. P.S. I just realized that the photo on this blog says “KINGDOM”. How was this amazing word done? And what was it signifying?

  5. Jesse! Dang, I miss your wisdom and passion for God! Please keep writing. I love getting a glimpse of what you guys are experiencing in Mexico! Miss yall a lot!!

  6. Jesse, It is so evident to me that God has anointed you with much wisdom and many more talents than we know about. I know that as time passes you will use each and every one of them to HIS glory. I have loved you like a son since the day you were born and I missed so much during your growing up years after your family moved away but now I am seeing how very special you are and I am getting to hear first hand (from you) of your love for the Lord and how you are using the talents he bestowed upon you. Keep safe and healthy and I hope to see you when you come home.

  7. Jesse, it’s so great to read your updates. I’ll be praying for you brother, I can’t wait to hear more about what God is doing with you.

  8. I’m glad to get your perspective on what happened that night. You know that I had a slightly different experience with my vision and going to pray for Molly (during which feedom was a common theme as well), but it’s exciting to hear these things. And amen, GOD IS NOT FINISHED YET, with any of the things he’s started here! I’m so glad that you’re here as our leader and I can’t wait to get to Uganda with you!

  9. It’s funny normally I have every intention of reading someone’s blog when I get the email update but never end up doing it but for some reason I opened this one and read it and I just want to thank you for your words because your experience has encouraged me and reminded me to live in freedom and to know that God is working in my life right now. So thank you and I’m so glad God is doing awesome things down there! I am praying for you!!!
